In addition to completing the online application, all applicants must submit a short biography (100-word maximum), a current headshot, a one-page resume, two letters of recommendation (to be completed via online form), and an audition video. Eligible instruments include all saxophones, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, bass trombone, drums/percussion, keyboard, accordion, guitar, violin, viola, cello, and double bass. The deadline to apply and submit all required materials is December 6, 2013. Applicants will be notified of their status by February 21, 2014.
• Audio or video recordings (video is strongly encouraged where possible) that include your performances of the following: • A Latin composition (Afro-Cuban, samba, tango, bossa nova, etc.) • A jazz standard • An original composition or personal favorite (preferably in a Latin style)• Each performance segment must be recorded in one take with no editing.
A $30 application fee is required at the time you submit your application.
Invited participants are expected to arrive in New York City the day before the workshop begins and depart the day after it concludes. Shared hotel accommodation is provided on that basis. Expenses of up to $300 will be reimbursed to each participant traveling from outside the New York City area and $650 for those traveling from outside the country.
