• The Tallis Scholars: Renaissance Masterworks

    For Choral Singers Ages 18–35

    April 13–17, 2015

Thirty young professional choral singers enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to study and perform with Peter Phillips and the The Tallis Scholars, the preeminent a cappella vocal ensemble. Phillips and members of the The Tallis Scholars prepare the singers to join them in a program in two of the most extraordinary works of the Renaissance: Antoine Brumel’s dramatic Missa Et ecce terrae motus, and Thomas Tallis’s sonorous 40-part motet “Spem in alium.” The culminating concert takes place at New York City’s Church of St. Ignatius Loyola as part of Carnegie Hall’s Before Bach focus.
