  • About the Academy

The Academy is a program for musicians who wish to redefine their role as musician and extend their music making from the concert stage into schools and the larger community.

In addition to belonging to Ensemble ACJW which performs at Carnegie Hall, Juilliard, and other venues, fellows spend 25 days during the school year in a New York City public school, sharing their artistry with the school community. In the second year of the program, fellows create community projects for sites that wouldn't otherwise have access to live music. All of these activities are supported by professional development over the course of the two years of the program.

  • Performing
Ensemble ACJW—an energetic performance collective comprising Academy fellows—has earned accolades from critics and audiences alike for its fresh approach to a wide range of repertoire, from beloved works written centuries ago to music penned yesterday.
