  • School Partnership

Each fellow is matched with a New York City public school for a 25-day residency and brings his/her unique artistry into K-12 classrooms. The residency focuses on student-centered, musical skill-building through interactive performance units and creative approaches to skills-based work.

Fellows work in instrumental classrooms and also bring interactive chamber ensemble performances to each school.

Any public elementary, middle, or high school within the New York City Department of Education that has an existing instrumental music program may apply for an Academy fellow residency, which can be tailored to any grade.
