Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) provides Secure Detention for juveniles ages 10–15 who are awaiting resolution of their court cases. Custody and care are provided in a safe, secure, and service-oriented program in the Department of Family Justice (DYFJ) Secure Detention facilities for approximately 186 people. ACS operates three secure detention facilities: Bridges Juvenile Center, in the Hunts Point section of the Bronx, Horizon Juvenile Center, located in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, and Crossroads Juvenile Center, located in Brownsville, Brooklyn.
