Viol consort Fretwork performs Bach's virtuosic Goldberg Variations tonight in All Saints Church, Tudeley, England. Published in 1741—and originally written for harpsichord—Fretwork's Richard Boothby arranged the complex work for viols. We are eagerly anticipating Fretwork's Carnegie Hall debut in Weill Recital Hall on February 8, 2012, when we will have the opportunity to hear the piece live.
Fretwork celebrates a quarter century of performing music old and new this year. You can listen to a selection of their recordings by clicking on the player below.
