Carnegie Hall today announced that soprano Anna Netrebko must regrettably cancel her Carnegie Hall recital debut with pianist Elena Bashkirova scheduled for Wednesday, October 26 at 8 PM in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage. It is with great disappointment that Ms. Netrebko must cancel this concert, however, after singing seven performances of the extremely taxing title role in Donizetti's Anna Bolena at The Metropolitan Opera, she has been ordered to go on 10 days of vocal rest by her doctor.
Ms. Netrebko said, "I love this program of music from my home country and no one is more disappointed and frustrated than me that I won't be able to perform for New York audiences next week. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and am deeply appreciative of everyone's understanding of this difficult situation."
Ticketholders who purchased tickets for this Anna Netrebko and Elena Bashkirova October 26 performance will receive automatic refunds. Ticketholders with any further questions should contact CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800.
