Tenor Nicholas Phan returns to Carnegie Hall tonight with Robert Spano and the Orchestra of St. Luke's for a performance of Bach's Magnificat. Phan's recently released debut solo CD has made top 10 lists in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and Time Out New York. The bulk of the album features Phan and pianist Myra Huang's recording of Benjamin Britten's Winter Words and Seven Sonnets of Michelangelo, both of which appeared on the program for his Carnegie Hall debut in November 2010.
In this video—produced as part last season's Carnegie Hall Debut series—the tenor reveals his obsession with Britten.
