• Maurizio Pollini Reveals the Miracle of Chopin

Maurizio Pollini has been performing and recording the piano works of Chopin for more than half a century. He was the winner of the 1960 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 1960 and has recorded multiple albums of the Polish composer's work ever since.

Here, in advance of his April 21 recital at Carnegie Hall—the first of two this season—which features five Chopin works, the great Italian pianist explains why Chopin is a dominant figure in the keyboard repertoire and reveals what he believes to be the "miracle of Chopin."
