In the spring of 2012, young wind players from around the country participated in master classes with members of the Berliner Philharmoniker as part of Carnegie Hall’s workshops and master classes. This summer, we're featuring videos from these master classes on the blog. Don’t miss your chance to learn from some of the world’s greatest artists by applying to participate in one of our workshops or master classes coming up next season.
This week, we feature Berliner Philharmoniker principal bassoon player Stefan Schweigert coaching Brent Foster on orchestral excerpts from Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 4. In this excerpt, Mr. Schweigert encourages Brent to explore the connections between notes as a way to mimic a mournful human voice.
