Neighborhood Concert: Banda de los Muertos
The Bronx Museum of the Arts
Banda de los Muertos fires up the crowd with its brassy, hot-blooded banda music from Sinaloa, Mexico. Loud and emotional, the banda sound is a boisterous crossbreed of traditional Mexican music and German polka, powered by ranks of brass, woodwinds, and percussion. This epic band storms the stage with soulful sounds from 1940s Mexico mixed with funky New York flavor—written and arranged by bandleader Jacob Garchik.
As part of The Bronx Museum’s First Friday! series, free museum tours will be provided from 6–7 PM, and drinks and refreshments will be served throughout the evening.
Join us in celebrating the timeless traditions of Mexico’s national holiday, Día de los Muertos.
