Neighborhood Concert: Members of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela
Snug Harbor Cultural Center
The Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela comprises 200 musicians, ages 16–30, who hail from El Sistema, Venezuela’s hugely successful social-action education program that brings music performance instruction to the country’s largely poor, underserved children. This energetic group of young Venezuelans was a hit when it made its New York premiere at Carnegie Hall in 2007. Experience this electric verve as members of this amazing orchestra perform as a chamber ensemble on Carnegie Hall’s Neighborhood Concert Series in Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden.
