Neighborhood Concert: Gregory Porter
Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture
He’s a sharp-dressing showstopper who’s exploding onto the international scene as the new crowned king of vocal jazz. You can hardly ask for more when you hear his righteous baritone, soulful scatting, and warm musicality. Porter’s debut album Water was Grammy nominated for Best Jazz Vocal, followed by his sophomore album Be Good in 2012, which features his stand-out original songs and strong grooves.
