Gabrielius Alekna, Piano

The second-prize winner at the 2005 International Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna, Austria, Gabrielius Alekna has appeared as a soloist with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Juilliard Orchestra, the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, and the Belarus State Symphony Orchestra, as well as with major orchestras in his native Lithuania. His recordings of works by Vytautas Bacevičius and Jeronimas Kačinskas can be heard on the Toccata Classics label. Gabrielius Alekna has studied with Jerome Lowenthal at the Juilliard School.

This concert is dedicated to the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2013.
