Over the past few seasons, Osmo Vänskä and the Minnesota Orchestra have drawn rave reviews from critics and standing ovations from Carnegie Hall audiences for their compelling performances. They return to Carnegie Hall this season with a concert that includes Sibelius’s powerful and beloved Second Symphony, as well as Pohjola’s Daughter, a symphonic fantasy inspired by an episode from the Kalevala—Finland's national epic—in which a romantic hero is thwarted by a conniving temptress.
