Neighborhood Concert: Songs of Solomon
Founded in 2001 by veteran conductor Reverend Chantel Wright, Songs of Solomon is Harlem’s inspirational youth choir, and the group that “positively brought down the house” (The New York Times) at Carnegie Hall’s 2009 HONOR! festival. The high-energy ensemble, whose repertoire ranges from gospel and spirituals to jazz and classical music, returns to Neighborhood Concerts and to the beautiful setting of Brooklyn’s Emmanuel Baptist Church. Songs of Solomon’s members have toured the US and performed with celebrated artists, including Earth, Wind & Fire; Elton John; Aretha Franklin; and Kelly Clarkson.
