Orpheus Chamber Orchestra

Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage
Orpheus Chamber Orchestra revisits the Baroque and Classical repertoire that launched the ensemble four decades ago, starting with an iconic concerto grosso by Handel. For the clarinet concerto that Mozart wrote at the end of his life, Orpheus welcomes clarinetist Martin Fröst, while another side of Mozart is displayed in Symphony No. 29, the vibrant work of an eighteen-year old. Irving Fine’s Serious Song, a modern “lament,” honors this unsung composer’s upcoming centenary.
