Osmo Vänskä and the Minnesota Orchestra complete their tour of Sibelius’s symphonies with this final concert of the cycle. The tranquil and sunny poetry of Symphony No. 6 and the transcendent single-movement Symphony No. 7 are coupled with the composer’s great last works—incidental music for Shakespeare’s famed play The Tempest and Tapiola, a tone poem inspired by Finnish folklore.
