Wallace Stevens was inspired by Picasso’s painting The Man with the Blue Guitar to write a poem of the same name. In turn, David Hockney created 20 etchings based on the work. Composer Georgia Shreve incorporates Hockney’s images into an original setting of Stevens’s poem and performs this as a multimedia work.
