Violinist and mezzo-soprano Tona Brown becomes the first openly transgender African American performer at Carnegie Hall. Accompanied by pianist Charlie Gilmer, Tona performs selections by African American and European composers, in celebration of LGBT Pride Week in New York City. Hostess Tammy Peay, a comedienne and television actress, speaks about love, joy, and equality. Writer, radio personality, and LGBT activist Nathan James takes the audience on a journey that leads from Stonewall to Carnegie Hall.
