For more than 35 years, Carnegie Hall has partnered with local organizations to bring classical, jazz, and world music performances to neighborhoods in all five boroughs of New York City. These free events also include participatory Community Sings, in which people of all ages are invited to sing alongside acclaimed artists and professional choruses—no experience necessary! In 2012–2013, the Weill Music Institute presents 10 Neighborhood Concerts as part of Carnegie Hall’s Voices from Latin America festival. Five of these will focus on the music of Mexico, featuring Celso Duarte, Magos Herrera, and more. The remainder will showcase chamber groups from the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela. These concerts will be announced in spring 2012.
