Program Features
In addition to the benefits offered within each individual program (e.g. professional development workshops, curriculum resources, and
interactive concerts at Carnegie Hall), the School Residency Program
also includes:
- • Collaborative planning and teaching with a WMI teaching artist
(10 teaching artist visits, vary by program)
- • Creative musical projects
- • Online resources
- • Ongoing support from WMI staff
In conversation with WMI staff, additional resources may be requested.
Fees
General: Varied (See specific programs for more information.)
Residency: $100 per classroom (Minimum participation of three classrooms is required.)
School and Teacher Responsibilities
- • Commitment to collaboration with the Weill Music Institute
- • Arrangement of planning sessions and classroom visits between teachers and a WMI teaching artist
- • Collaboration with a WMI teaching artist to implement creative projects and lesson plans
- • Required attendance at professional development workshops (number varies according to program)
- • On-going and consistent communication with a WMI teaching artist and program staff
