• Music Educator's Toolbox

The Music Blueprint Model School was an in-depth, five-year partnership between Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute and PS/MS 161 School in upper Manhattan, that began in 2008, and provided full K-8 implementation of the New York City Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in Music. By embracing the rigorous, standards-based approach to arts instruction as outlined in the Blueprint, the partnership resulted in creative teaching practices, learning resources, and assessment tools. These tools are now available to music educators for free through the Music Educators Toolbox on Carnegie Hall's Digital Library. Developed and implemented in the classroom by music specialists and Carnegie Hall teachings artists at the Blueprint Model School, these classroom tools are proven effective and adaptable for use in a variety of music classroom settings.

  • Major funding for The Music Blueprint Model School is provided by The Irene Diamond Fund. Additional support is provided by the Lanie & Ethel Foundation.

Endowment support is also provided by The MARMA Foundation Fund for Youth Education.
