Yoko Ono presents a program of her own compositions in Carnegie Recital Hall (today’s Weill Recital Hall) on November 21.

She had not yet met John Lennon, and was trying to make her name as a performance artist when she made her Carnegie Hall debut. At a second concert in 1965, she invited members of the audience to cut up her dress with scissors as part of her Cut Piece, which was filmed by documentarians Albert and David Maysles.
