    Development Interns

    Carnegie Hall seeks interns for Summer 2014 to assist the Development department with daily operations including drafting correspondence, prospect research, and administrative tasks. Interns will not only gain exposure to, but will have full involvement to fundraising at a major performing arts institution, with tasks specific to areas of focus: Special Events, Individual Giving, Government and Corporate Sponsorship. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assisting with data management such as web-based and telephone research to identify and update contact information; Maintaining the prospect management system for focus area and other miscellaneous tasks; Assisting with special event planning and implementation; Administrative office duties such mailing, faxing, filing, etc.;  and assisting in grant writing and program development, as needed. Candidates will also assist in prospect research and cultivation; and general departmental projects as assigned, including phone duty.

     

    Qualifications: Candidates considering a career in fundraising and/or arts administration are encouraged to apply. Must be able to commit to 20 hours per week. Applicants must have strong writing skills, computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel, and excellent communication and organization skills. A meal and transportation stipend is offered.
