Web Developer

We seek a Web Developer
who under the supervision of the Director, Interactive
Services, the Web Developer supports carnegiehall.org and is
responsible for front-end and back-end development. The Web
Developer works together with the Interactive Services staff and
external vendors to establish and advance website technical
standards, and is responsible for maintaining those
standards. The Web Developer plays a key role in a team which
includes the IT&NM and e-Strategy departments on operational
maintenance and troubleshooting. The Web Developer must work
well in a high-pressure environment with many deadlines and
demands, and support many different departments within the
organization. After-hours and weekend work will sometimes be
required to meet deadlines and maintain smooth site
operations. Web Developer activities will include but are not
limited to: Collaborating with Carnegie Hall stakeholders to
conceive website enhancements, new features, and bug resolution,
with a focus on improving the customer experience. Designing
and developing specifications and documentation for enhancements
and new website features in conjunction with internal and external
software development resources.
Participating in all phases of website development including
coding, unit testing, integration, QA and launch as required.
Providing ongoing maintenance and bug fixes for website
applications through the use of the content management system and
customization as required. Providing training and support to
staff members for website related activities. Remaining
current on emerging technologies and security threats.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree with 3 years' experience in website development and
support, e-Commerce experience preferred. Proven knowledge of
.NET Framework (C#, ASP.NET 2.0/3.5)
Experience with front-end web development (HTML, CSS,
JavaScript, and XML). Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server,
stored procedures, views, database design for performance, query
optimization. Experience with content management systems,
Ektron a plus. Experience with ticketing and fundraising
applications, Tessitura a plus. Experience with source code
management systems, Subversion preferred. Familiarity with
the incorporation of music and video media into online
environments, including such areas as media capture standards,
encoding standards, and streaming technologies. Excellent
written and verbal communications skills are required. Strong
teamwork skills are essential, as is the ability to work
independently and with great attention to detail.
