    Application Support Specialist

    We seek an Application Support Specialist who guides the implementation, oversight and advancement of technological and functional aspects within the Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall. Reporting to the Associate Director, Information Systems and dedicated to supporting the WMI, he/she is responsible for shaping and strengthening core WMI business processes through the application of information technology.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide first level support to WMI staff to document, analyze and resolve the technical issues and demonstrate sound judgment to determine when to escalate issues to the next level of support.  Identify, analyze and interpret user needs and provide functional specifications for system changes and enhancements to Information Systems team. Collaborate with the Information Systems team to audit data, to ensure technical standards and best practices for data collection and data entry are met, coordinate the maintenance of constituent data across all areas across WMI, to test rollout of new applications and new updates of existing applications. Prepare process documentation and provide training and coaching to new staff on business applications used within each WMI program, and maintain an ongoing training for existing staff on new and complex features.  Responsible for designing and executing constituent lists and extractions, output sets, suppressions and manage sources in support of WMI’s marketing, direct mailing, and email campaign initiatives.  Provide statistical reports for management, research, and development department through the system application under Information Systems supervision and guidelines. Providing general updates on WMI initiatives and programs to Information Systems and act as a liaison.

    Qualifications:

    BA/BS degree with 5 years + of relevant professional experience. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and must be comfortable working in a service-oriented position. Advanced computer proficiency is required and the ability to demonstrate technical and operational problem solving skills. Must have excellent communications skills and ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative environment.  Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is mandatory, and a high overall level of computer proficiency and understanding of database management are essential. Prior work for nonprofits, performing arts centers, educational organizations and working knowledge with related applications such as Tessitura and Artifax is preferable.  Interest in music and education is strongly desirable.
