Actors Michael Cumpsty, Robert Stanton, and WendyRich Stetson will be performing a dramatic reading of letters, reviews, andwritings by Liszt and his contemporaries as part of a Discovery Day dedicatedto composer/pianist Franz Liszt. The reading offers an insight into Liszt’spersonality, his virtuosity, his composing, his teaching, and much more.Carnegie Hall celebrates the 200th anniversary year of this legendary figure inmusic history on Saturday, January 29, beginning at 1:00 p.m. in Weill RecitalHall. Led by noted musicologist and Liszt scholar Alan Walker, the daywill also include a panel discussion as well as musical performances by sopranoAngela Meade, and pianists Gregory DeTurck and Bradley Moore.Carnegie Hall’s Director of Artistic Planning, Jeremy Geffen, serves asthe event’s moderator and is joined by Mr. Walker and noted American pianistand author Charles Rosen.
