Program Update: Monday’s JapanNYC Bloomberg Panel Event Cancelled

CARNEGIE HALL AND BLOOMBERG CANCEL PANEL DISCUSSION ON
MONDAY, MARCH 14, SCHEDULED AS PART OF JapanNYC FESTIVAL

NEW YORK, NY, March 11, 2011—Carnegie Hall today announced that, due to recent events in Japan, it was canceling the panel discussion, Innovating and Profiting in Contemporary Japan, scheduled for Monday, March 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Weill Recital Hall. The panel was to have been presented in partnership with Bloomberg as part of the citywide JapanNYC festival. Given its topic, both Carnegie Hall and Bloomberg felt it best to not move ahead with this particular event. Ticketholders will receive automatic refunds; those with questions should contact CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800.

All other festival events are currently scheduled to take place as announced. “We were all very saddened to hear about the tragedy in Japan. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected,” said Clive Gillinson, Executive and Artistic Director of Carnegie Hall. “At this incredibly difficult time, we feel it is particularly important to pay tribute to Japan and its people through this festival.”
