Carnegie Hall today announced an artist change to its Distinctive Debuts series for next season. Guitarist Miloš Karadaglic replaces pianist Kit Armstrong in recital on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. in Weill Recital Hall. Mr. Armstrong regrets that he is not able to perform on the series due to scheduling issues. Mr. Karadaglic’s program will be announced at a later date.

Born in Montenegro in 1983, Miloš Karadaglic has established himself as one of today’s most gifted young guitar virtuosos. In 2010, he signed an exclusive recording contract with Deutsche Grammophon, and his first recording for the label, The Guitar, will be released in the US in June 2011. Growing up during the time of the Balkan civil war, Mr. Karadaglic began playing the guitar at the age of eight and very quickly won national recognition. At 16, he was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music, where, after graduating with First Class Honors, he went on to complete a Master’s Degree in Performance and was subsequently made a Meaker Junior Fellow—the first guitarist to be given this distinction at the Royal Academy. Mr. Karadaglic’s engagements have included solo recital debuts at Wigmore Hall in London and the Lucerne Festival and concerto debuts with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and English Chamber Orchestra. Other appearances have included the Cheltenham, Menuhin, and Spitalfields festivals and the 2010 iTunes Festival in London. Upcoming engagements include recitals at Wigmore Hall, Brighton Festival, and BOCA Festival of the Arts.
