Carnegie Hall today announced a schedule change to its upcoming Professional Training Workshop for young composers and solo string players being led by composer Kaija Saariaho and cellist Anssi Karttunen, presented by the Weill Music Institute from March 6 to March 12. Instead of presenting the premieres of new works by workshop participants over two concerts, as previously announced, all works will now be combined in one final program on Monday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Zankel Hall. The workshop concert scheduled for the preceding night, March 11, has been cancelled. The public master class scheduled for Friday, March 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Weill Recital Hall takes place as planned.

Acclaimed Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho continues her season-long Carnegie Hall residency as holder of the 2011-2012 Richard and Barbara Debs Composer’s Chair this month with concerts by Solistes XXI (March 5) and the St. Louis Symphony with David Robertson and Karita Mattila (March 10). In addition to the new works by the young composers, the March 12 Professional Training Workshop concert will include two U.S. premieres by Ms. Saariaho, Aure and Cloud Trio, played by selected musicians from the workshop.

Ticket holders with questions may contact CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800.
