This performance is the culminating event of a weeklong Professional Training Workshop with tabla master Zakir Hussain, in which participants explored and developed improvisational Indian classical works. Guest faculty members joined Zakir in leading this workshop: santoor master Pandit Shivkumar Sharma; fusion drummer Steve Smith; violinist Kala Ramnath; and Zakir’s wife, Kathak dancer Antonia Minnecola.
