The Artists

A work by Louis Andriessen, evocative of a Bach chorale variation, opens this program, followed by compositions by an unpredictable protégé—Martjin Padding—and a close collaborator—Reinbert de Leeuw—of Andriessen. Hear a concerto written for the harmonium and a dramatic, affecting, and spellbinding adaptation of the best-known German lieder.
