Carnegie Hall Subscriptions - Great American Orchestras II
Great American Orchestras II

The Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra performs one of the highlights of this year’s Ancient Paths, Modern Voices: Celebrating Chinese Culture, Grammy- and Oscar-winning composer Tan Dun’s Water Concerto, for water percussion and orchestra in honor of composer To-ru Takemitsu. Ecstatic reviews followed a recent international tour by The Cleveland Orchestra, praised for being “the most ‘European’ of the American orchestras, with wind and brass soloists to die for, and a string sound of superlative warmth and sensitivity” (London Times). The Chicago and San Francisco symphonies complete this series of outstanding ensembles, which promises extraordinary musical experiences.
