COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
The Community Partnership Program encourages, embraces, and enhances a community's musical life. In collaboration with partner institutions and key stakeholders, the Community Partnership Program offers activities and events in a single community that allow people to share their own musical abilities, come together for a common purpose, and celebrate their community through music. Currently centered in Harlem and extending to the Bronx in 2009–2010, a centerpiece of the program is Community Sings—events where people of all ages sing, exchange stories, and learn from leading artists from the community, the country, and the world.
