Musical Connections

Artist Application

The Weill Music Institute is looking for quality, passionate, civic-minded artists interested in joining its roster for Musical Connections.


Applicants must supply the following:
  • completed application form (click here to download the solo artist application; click here to download the ensemble application)
  • personal or ensemble statement
  • headshot or ensemble photo
  • audition recording
  • repertoire list
  • resume (individual) and performance history (ensemble)

Materials will be accepted on an ongoing basis, with application reviews on June 30 and December 10, 2009.


Qualifications

All artists must meet the following criteria:

  • possess the ability to communicate enthusiasm and creativity through community engagement with diverse audiences
  • perform as a singer, instrumentalist, or as part of an ensemble
  • commit to the program for two years (each performance season runs October through June)
  • participate in three Professional Development Workshops and be available for an average of five performances in the first year
  • live in the New York metropolitan area

Prior experience is not necessary. Artists will be compensated for performances and training sessions.
