Professional Programs

The ongoing professional development of young musicians, teaching artists, and general educators is addressed by The Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall through a series of five different and innovative programs.


Professional Training Workshop Professional Training Workshops ›
Catering to the individual and professional needs of young artists ages 18–35, Professional Training Workshops provide a special opportunity for participants to explore every aspect of musical life with today’s leading artists. These weeklong intensive workshops provide insight and tools to nurture artistic vision, offer ways to communicate and connect with audiences, and build a community of friends and colleagues to last a lifetime. This season's artists include Dave Douglas, Kronos Quartet, and Leon Fleisher.
Teaching Artist Collaborative

Teaching Artist Collaborative ›
The Teaching Artist Collaborative of The Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall supports 20 practicing and emerging teaching artists in a yearlong program that provides opportunities to collaborate with master teaching artists, gain tools in workshop settings, and use what is learned in real classroom teaching experiences.

In 2001, Carnegie Hall established the Weill Fellows Program for musicians, educators, and administrators from different countries to stimulate the exchange of ideas about music, education, and best practices.
The Academy

The Academy ›
The Academy—a program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School, and The Weill Music Institute in partnership with the New York City Department of Education—serves post-graduate musicians embarking on their careers by helping to bridge the gap between their academic and professional lives.
