Double bassist Edgar Meyer—whose work spans Western classical and American roots music—will work with 15 young musicians in a workshop designed to create a bridge between the two traditions. Throughout the weeklong workshop, the musicians will immerse themselves in improvised and composed music, compositions by Meyer himself and student-submitted works. The culminating performance will take place in Zankel Hall. Applications will be accepted for violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, mandolin, banjo, and Dobro. Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 30.
This workshop is also open to auditors for a nominal registration fee. See below for an Auditor Brochure.
