To offer the opportunity to participate in Professional Training Workshops to as many qualified young artists as possible, priority is given to new applicants.
Applicants who have participated in a Professional Training Workshop during the last two seasons may not apply unless:
- The workshops are in different disciplines (for example, applicant participated in a workshop for composers and wishes to apply for a workshop as an instrumentalist);
- The workshops are in different genres (for example, applicant participated in a jazz workshop and wishes to apply for a choral workshop); or
- The kind of participation in workshops is different (for example, applicant participated in a previous workshop as a soloist and wishes to apply for another workshop as part of an ensemble).
Application
Please complete the application form on the relevant page (links above) and return it with the following:
- press kit (if available)*

Auditing
Some sessions during these workshops will be open to auditors.
An auditor is a non-performing participant at the workshop. Auditors are music teachers, performers, or music lovers who pay to attend a group or a single workshop session. It is necessary to register and apply to become an auditor.
Auditors will receive a complimentary ticket to the Young Artists Concert. The workshop schedule will be sent to auditors approximately six weeks prior to the workshop start date. The fee for auditing is $30 per day, and sessions are limited to 20 people. To register, please use the form found here. For more information, call 212-903-9733 or e-mail ptw@weillmusicinstitute.org.
To be added to the Professional Training Workshop mailing list, please contact Professional Training Workshops at 212-903-9733 or e-mail ptw@weillmusicinstitute.org. In your e-mail, please include your mailing address, instrument, and the types of workshops in which you are interested (instrumental, choral, vocal, conducting, composition, jazz, world, American roots).
More information is available on our FAQ page.
