The opening of Judy and Arthur Zankel Hall in September 2003 marked a watershed development in the history of Carnegie Hall, restoring this institution to Andrew Carnegie's original 1891 concept: three great stages, one great hall.

By virtue of its intermediate size and dynamic design, Zankel Hall will allow Carnegie Hall to greatly expand the scope of its concert and education programming. It will create a new forum for nurturing diverse artists and audiences from across America and around the world, and will bring both artistic and educational programming to a potentially global audience through contemporary communications technology.

To support this expansion and to develop the solid financial base that will sustain these new programs over the long term, Carnegie Hall is now reaching out to music lovers around the world to augment its Endowment Fund. Gifts to the Endowment Fund may be designated for unrestricted support or used to establish a named fund to offset the costs of a specific programming initiative.
