• Carnegie Hall celebrates 40 years of partnering with local community organizations to present free Neighborhood Concerts featuring outstanding main-stage artists as well as exciting rising stars of classical, jazz, and world music. These performances tap into the pulse of diverse communities across New York City and bring local residents together to share in the joy of music. This season, as part of the Weill Music Institute’s Somewhere Project, New York City–based artists will work with youth and young mothers to create new works inspired by “Somewhere,” the classic song that forms the affirmative core of West Side Story. These new works will be featured in five Neighborhood Concerts, one in each borough of the city.
