An exciting young percussion quartet deftly captures the current state of music. First up is a Steve Reich classic, now 40 years old, which still sounds new. Then the ensemble offers premieres of works by two composers whose musical backgrounds demonstrate refreshing eclecticism: When not writing for the concert stage, Dan Trueman performs on the Norwegian folk fiddle and Steve Mackey plays electric guitar.
