Kala Ramnath, the contemporary torchbearer of the Mewati Gharana, is among today’s most outstanding instrumental artists in North Indian classical music. Ramnath’s violin playing is characterized by her immaculate technique. Ramnath produces a sound so close to that of vocal music that she has completely revolutionized the technique of violin playing.
