  • Carnegie Hall Concert Schedule Update

    With the devastating effects of Hurricane Sandy so far-reaching, we want first to extend our sympathy to the many Carnegie Hall audience members who have suffered under its impact.

    Carnegie Hall today announced that it will reopen to public on Wednesday, November 7, following closure caused by both Hurricane Sandy and the subsequent closing of West 57th Street by New York City authorities due to a construction crane in the neighborhood that was badly damaged in the storm.

    Carnegie Hall has been closed since Sunday, October 28 due to Hurricane Sandy and the subsequent closure of West 57th Street. Below is a list of concerts that have been rescheduled, cancelled, or moved to alternative venues. Concerts listed on the website for Tuesday, November 6 and beyond remain on the Carnegie Hall schedule pending the reopening of West 57th Street. Ticketholders are encouraged to check this website for the most up-to-date information and can call CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800 with any questions.


    General Information for Ticketholders

    For concerts that have been rescheduled, patrons should retain their tickets which will be honored for each new date.

    For concerts that have been postponed, patrons should retain their tickets, pending further instructions from Carnegie Hall.

    For concerts that have been cancelled, patrons who purchased tickets from Carnegie Hall with a credit card will receive automatic refunds. Those who purchased tickets with cash can return them to the Carnegie Hall Box Office once it reopens to receive their refund. Those who purchased tickets from an outside presenter should call CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800.

    For La Gesse concerts, patrons who purchased tickets from Carnegie Hall with a credit card will receive automatic refunds. Those who purchased tickets from Carnegie Hall with cash can return them to the Carnegie Hall Box Office to receive their refund. Ticketholders who either purchased from concert presenters or who have any further questions should contact CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800.


    Wednesday, November 7

    Carnegie Hall reopens with a recital by violinist Midori and pianist Özgür Aydin at 8 PM in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage.

    The Belcea Quartet will present the first of two all-Beethoven concerts this week at 7:30 PM in Zankel Hall. The Belcea Quartet returns to Zankel Hall on Friday, November 9 at 7:30 PM.

    The La Gesse Foundation Series has been rescheduled for January 11, 2013. Artists to be announced. Information for ticketholders above.


    Tuesday, November 6

    The performance by the Emerson String Quartet with violist Paul Neubauer, cellist Colin Carr, and pianist Yefim Bronfman in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, has been rescheduled for Monday, January 7 at 8 PM. Ticketholders should retain their tickets which will be honored for the new date.

    The concert by the Belcea Quartet has been cancelled. The quartet's Zankel Hall performances on Wednesday, November 7 and Friday, November 9, both at 7:30PM, remain on Carnegie Hall's schedule.

    The La Gesse Foundation Series has been rescheduled for January 10, 2013. Artists to be announced. Information for ticketholders above.


    Monday, November 5

    The Carnegie Hall Notables private event (un)common threads: Blurring genres in the 21st century has been rescheduled for Monday, December 17 at 7 PM. Patrons with questions should contact the Notables office at 212-903-9734 or by email notables@carnegiehall.org.

    The Oratorio Society of New York's concert of American Voices has been rescheduled for March 5, 2013.

    The La Gesse Foundation Series has been rescheduled for January 9, 2013. Artists to be announced. Information for ticketholders above.


    Sunday, November 4

    The performance by Idina Menzel—presented by Live Nation and Princeton Entertainment—originally scheduled for Monday October 29, and later rescheduled earlier this week for Sunday, November 4, has now been rescheduled for Sunday, January 13 at 8 PM.

    Both AFAF Student Recitals—presented by American Fine Arts Festival—have been rescheduled for Sunday, June 2 at 12 PM and 4:30 PM.


    Saturday, November 3

    The Belcea Quartet concert has been rescheduled for Tuesday, November 6 at 7:30 PM—pending the reopening of West 57th Street in Manhattan.

    The Canterbury Choral Society's performance has been rescheduled for Monday, January 14 at 8 PM.

    The Manhattan School of Music and Hong Kong Arts Development Council's Manhattan Hong Kong Music Festival Chinoiserie Moderne: Beyond Exoticism performance has been cancelled.

    Global Artists Management's performance by violinist Mercedes Cheung has been rescheduled for Friday, December 28.


    Friday, November 2

    The performance by The King's Singers has been rescheduled for Monday, February 18 at 7:30 PM.

    The performance by pianist Murray Perahia has been relocated to Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center and rescheduled for Sunday, November 4 at 7:30 PM. Ticketholders should retain their tickets for exchange at the Avery Fisher Hall Box Office on Saturday, November 3 from 10 AM until 6:30 PM and Sunday, November 4 from 10 AM until 7:30 PM

    Opera Lafayette's performance— presented by Opera Lafayette—has been relocated to the Colony Club at 564 Park Avenue between 62nd and 63rd Street. Ticketholders will receive automatic refunds and may repurchase their tickets at the Colony Club door. Ticketholders with questions should contact Opera Lafayette at 202-546-9332.


    Thursday, November 1

    The performance by the Orchestra of St. Luke's with conductor Nicholas McGegan has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 1, 2013. The soloist for the rescheduled concert is cellist Steven Isserlis.

    Pianist Wael Farouk's concert has been rescheduled for June 1, 2013.


    Wednesday, October 31

    The performance by harpist Suzanna Klintcharova—presented by ArtFusion Paris—has been rescheduled for December 27.

    The concert by the Mariinsky Orchestra with Valery Gergiev has been cancelled.


    Tuesday, October 30

    The Lang Lang and Friends event—presented by CAMI Music—has been rescheduled for Monday, June 3, 2013.

    An Evening at the Spoleto Festival—presented by The Villa Firenze Foundation and Festival dei Due Mondi di Spoleto—has been rescheduled for February 1, 2013.


    Monday, October 29

    The performance by Idina Menzel—presented by Live Nation and Princeton Entertainment—originally scheduled for Monday October 29, and later rescheduled earlier this week for Sunday, November 4, has now been rescheduled for Sunday, January 13 at 8 PM.

    The performance by mezzo-soprano Jadranka Jovanovic—presented by Serbian-American Museum St. Sava—has been rescheduled for June 3, 2013.


    Sunday, October 28

    The Yonsei Alumni Association Concert—presented by Seong Sook Choi—has been rescheduled for December 18.

    Celebrating the Tokyo String Quartet—presented by The Yale School of Music—has been cancelled.
