Complementing its performance activities, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute (WMI) creates extensive music education and social impact programs that annually serve more than 600,000 people worldwide, playing a central role in fulfilling Carnegie Hall's commitment to making great music accessible to as many people as possible.

1) Scope of responsibilities:

Responsibilities include assisting the Director and department in all aspects of corporate fundraising with focus on corporate member solicitations and acknowledgments, research, activity tracking, member benefits servicing, and financial tracking and processing; as well as organizational duties related to all department activity.

Qualifications

2) Special skills required:

BA/BS degree required with preferred 2-3 years of professional experience. Individual must possess meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Computer knowledge and experience with database management, specifically Tessitura, is helpful. An expectation of minimal weekend and evening hours is possible as related to sponsor or other events onsite.

3) Describe essential functions of the position and the percentage of time spent on each:

20% With oversight by the Director, draft, personalize, proofread and assemble solicitation and acknowledgement letters and packages for corporate members.

20% Oversee tracking of all corporate donor and prospect activity, including database maintenance

20% Manage department financial systems, including posting gifts, maintaining expense budget, and processing invoices and payments.

15% Assist with donor servicing and manage the corporate membership communications and employee benefits distribution

15% Research potential corporate donors and sponsors for artistic and educational programming and participate in sponsorship strategy planning. Assist Director in the creation of sponsorship proposals.

10% Draft and track department correspondence for Director and Executive Office, with oversight by Director
