Carnegie Hall’s Community Management Associate is responsible for developing content and managing relationships to support the growing national network of educators served by Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, the education and social impact department of Carnegie Hall. Core skills include social media copywriting, email newsletter copywriting and development, and management of social media groups and channels.

This role focuses primarily on retention and engagement of school-based educators who utilize the Weill Music Institute’s Learning and Engagement programs and curricula. The Associate works in partnership with WMI program teams and the Marketing Manager, Education & Social Impact, and should be highly collaborative.

This role is part-time (20 hours/week).


  • Identify high-level tactics and opportunities to retain and engage educators working within the Weill Music Institute’s programs in collaboration with Marketing and Digital Content & Engagement.
  • Develop content for and write weekly top-of-funnel and targeted audience engagement posts for educators to be shared on Carnegie Hall’s main social media channels.
  • Manage Carnegie Hall’s Facebook groups for educators; drive conversation and identify and execute opportunities for engagement.
  • Plan and facilitate communications with registered educators, exhibiting a clear understanding of thoughtful messaging and content development.
  • Monitor educators’ email inbox and respond to direct email inquiries from educators.
  • Provide support to educators using WMI digital products (digital curricula, interactive modules, etc.), and escalate customer service issues through the appropriate channels.
  • Manage, plan content for, and post on Carnegie Hall dedicated education channels (i.e., Pinterest).
  • Manage technology needs/questions and troubleshoot individual and group tech issues
  • Manage online events, such as webinars and web chats for educators, in collaboration with the program team.
  • Gather general feedback and user experience data from educators to support the ongoing evaluation and iterative development of educational digital products.
  • Write and edit marketing copy for website, email, and social media mediums.
  • Develop, deepen, and maintain educator relationships on behalf of Carnegie Hall.
  • Allocate and track budget spend, presenting reports as requested.
  • Ensure consistency and integration across other campaigns and messages.
  • Represent Carnegie Hall at performances, events, and conferences.
  • Minimum of two years professional experience, preferably in arts education and/or digital marketing.
  • Broad understanding of and interest in arts education.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing engaging content.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive, thoughtful short- and long-term plans and strategies.
  • Analytically-driven to use data to create meaningful insights
  • Culturally responsive, superior communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong copy writing skills for all platforms, including web, email, and social media.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and organizational capacity.
  • Excellent time management along with ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, project managing and prioritizing requests.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a willingness to learn additional software programs. Knowledge of Tessitura helpful.
  • Passion and knowledge of music, social justice practice, and/or the arts a major plus.
  • Some evening and weekend coverage required.
