Faithful retainer Toshiro Mifune plays it his Lordship's way, even when the lord decides to unload his mistress on Mifune's son. But when their first child suddenly becomes heir, the lord wants her back. The built-up tension is orgasmically released in a powerful one-against-all fight and in a climactic final battle with reluctant pal Tatsuya Nakadai.
