Concerts by Seiji Ozawa and Seiji Ozawa Ongaku-juku are Canceled
Carnegie Hall today announced that conductor Seiji Ozawa and Seiji Ozawa Ongaku-juku (Seiji Ozawa Music Academy Orchestra) must regrettably cancel their performances on Friday, April 1 and Saturday, April 2 in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, part of Carnegie Hall's citywide JapanNYC festival. While Maestro Ozawa continues to recuperate from recent successful back surgery to treat herniated discs, doctors have advised that he unfortunately will not complete his rehabilitation in time for these performances. Organizers for Seiji Ozawa Ongaku-juku have canceled the orchestra's spring tour, including these concerts in New York.
Ticketholders who purchased tickets for the April 1 and 2 performances through CarnegieCharge or carnegiehall.org will receive automatic refunds. Those who purchased tickets at the Carnegie Hall Box Office should return them to the box office in person to receive a refund or to exchange for tickets to another Carnegie Hall performance. Ticketholders with questions may contact CarnegieCharge at 212-247-7800.
