Introducing the Albany Symphony

The Albany Symphony—under Music Director David Alan Miller—reaches more than 150,000 people every year, winning national awards for its adventurous concert programming, recording projects, composer residencies, and innovative educational efforts with schools. Founded during the Depression and serving a diverse community, its dedication to American music echoes the region’s rich history.

On May 10, the Albany Symphony performs a program that includes nine New York premieres and Copland's Appalachian Spring as part of Spring for Music.

Members of the orchestra describe their feelings on performing a spiritual-inspired program at Carnegie Hall.

Albany Symphony Orchestra Music Director David Alan Miller explains how the program for that night was conceived.
