Carl Ruggles: American Mavericks Listening Room

In addition to Charles Ives's A Concord Symphony, Carl Ruggles's Sun-Treader appears on the San Francisco Symphony's American Mavericks program on March 28.

Inspired by the line "Sun-treader, light and life be thine forever!" from Robert Browning's Pauline, the powerful Sun-Treader is compared with Brahms's First Symphony in San Francisco Symphony's listening room.

Additional extracts and program notes are available here.
